Possession of an offensive weapon and blackmail arrests made by police in Banbury

Thames Valley Police officers made a series of arrests yesterday (Thursday July 16) in Banbury, including possession of an illegal weapon, theft and blackmail offences.

Police arrested a 27-year-old man from Banbury on suspicion of possession of a knife blade/sharp pointed article in a public place.

The arrest was made after officers were called to Oxford Road, Banbury following reports of a man with a knife.

He was later released under investigation.

Officers later in the same shift arrested a 20-year-old Banbury man for theft, 'malicious comms' and blackmail.

The arrest was made following a report that was made to police.

He was later released on bail.
