Police have released an image of a man they want to speak to in connection with a handbag theft.

Northamptonshire police officers believe the man pictured may have information regarding the theft in Stanwell Drive, Middleton Cheney.

Between 2 pm and 2.45 pm on Thursday July 21, a woman in her 70s was followed home after withdrawing money from her bank in Banbury.

As she pulled up on her drive, a man opened her car door and snatched the handbag from her lap before getting into a car and driving off.

Officers investigating the incident believe the man in the image may be able to assist with their enquiries and are appealing for him, or anyone who may recognise him, to get in touch.
