Police release CCTV images from robbery at Banbury Esso garage

Police are trying to identify a man in connection to a recent robbery involving a knife at an Esso garage in Banbury.

Officers with the Thames Valley Police have released CCTV images of a man they would like to speak to in connection to a robbery in Banbury.

The robbery happened after a man entered the Esso garage in Ermont Way and demanded the cashier hand over money from the till. The robbery occurred around 3.15am on Sunday September 27.

The man then went behind the tills and took several packets of cigarettes from the cabinet.

The man was armed with a knife. The offender left the garage in the direction of Hennef Way roundabout.

Cash and cigarettes were stolen.

Investigating officer PC Abigail Sharman based at Banbury police station said: “I believe the man in this CCTV image may have vital information that could help our investigation.

“If you witnessed this incident or have any information, or if you recognise this man or believe it could be you, please get in touch.
