Police make arrest in connection to seizure of class A drugs in Banbury

Police have arrested a teenager in connection to the seizure of class A drugs in Banbury today, Tuesday March 2.

Officers with the 'Problem Solving Team' of the Thames Valley Police arrested a 17-year-old male today.

The arrest came following reports of suspicious behaviour and suspected drug dealing in and around the Green Lane Bridge area of Banbury. Local officers have been regularly patrolling the area and on the look out for those involved.

Police detained a 17-year-old male today, Tuesday March 2, who was searched under the S23 of the Misuse of Drugs Act.

Police seized a large quantity of suspected class A drugs along with a considerable amount of cash.

The teenager arrested remains in custody with officers from the TVP Banbury Tasking Team assisting with the ongoing investigation.

Police posted the following message on the TVP Cherwell's Facebook page about the arrest, which said: "We do take all reports of such behaviour seriously.

"It is not lost upon us the considerable risk that young people are putting themselves in by becoming involved in drug dealing.
