Police make arrest and seize 'large quantity' of drugs in Banbury

Thames Valley Police arrested a 39-year-old Banbury man in connection to the seizure of a 'large' quantity of class A drugs yesterday, Monday July 6, in Banbury.

The drugs seizure occurred after officers with the TVP Roads Policing unit supported by Response Team Two stopped a vehicle in Banbury finding a 'large quantity' of class A drugs inside.

Officers with TVP Cherwell took to social media to let people know about the drugs seizure.

The post said: "These drugs were being transited into the town and a house search conducted whereby a further substantial quantity of Class A was located."

Police arrested a 39-year-old man from Banbury on suspicion of possession with intent to supply class A and B drugs.

The arrest came as a result of a vehicle stop in Cromwell Road, Banbury just after 1.15pm yesterday, Monday July 6.

An address in The Fairway, Banbury, was searched as a part of the investigation. Police declined to reveal what type of drugs were seized or how much as part of their investigation.

The man arrested has been released on police bail until August 3.
