Police launch appeal for video footage of Banburyshire fire in connection to ongoing murder investigation

Northamptonshire Police and fire investigators have launched an appeal for video footage of a shed fire in Middleton Cheney, which led to the discovery of a man’s body.

Anyone with video footage of the fire is asked to submit it to Northants Police via an online portal.

A major police investigation was launched following the incident, which happened yesterday, Wednesday June 9, in Salmon Lane, Middleton Cheney.

As part of the investigation, fire scene investigators and detectives are asking anyone with video footage to send it in, to help establish the cause and progression of the fire.

The incident after firefighters with the Northamptonshire Fire and Rescue Service were called around 3.35pm yesterday, Wednesday June 9, to reports of a fire in Salmon Lane, Middleton Cheney.

Upon arrival firefighters found a shed alight, and after the flames were put out the body of a man was discovered inside.

As part of the police investigation a 65-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of murder. She remains in police custody this afternoon, Thursday June 10.
