Police charge man after incident involving 'machete-like' blade in Kineton

Warwickshire Police have charged a 31-year-old man in connection to reports of a suspicious person wielding a 'machete-like' blade in Kineton.

Police responded to reports of a suspicious white BMW driving through a neighbourhood in the village during the early morning hours of yesterday (Sunday April 5).

At least one occupant of the vehicle reportedly got out while armed with a 'machete-like' blade. As a result of the incident Warwickshire Police were called.

Police arrested Razvan Radu, 31, of Mint Drive, Hockley, Birmingham, and charged him yesterday (Sunday April 5) with possessing a knife blade/ sharp pointed article in a public place.

The arrest and charge follows an incident on Dene Close in Kineton yesterday (Sunday April 5).

No further details were available from what happened during the incident.

The man arrested was bailed, and is due to appear at Leamington Magistrates Court on May 22.
