Thames Valley Police are appealing for witnesses after a motorist was threatened with a large kitchen knife and crowbar in Banbury.

The incident took place at about 2.30pm on Friday in Longlands Way.

The 22-year-old victim was driving his car, a green Golf, along Longlands Way when a red Nissan Note containing three men drove towards him.

The cars ended up bumper-to-bumper and the offender, a passenger in the Nissan Note, left the car and ran towards the victim with the weapons.

The victim reversed his car and drove through Ruscote Park to evade the offender, described as white, 6ft tall, with short light brown hair and a slim build.

Following the incident a 22-year-old from Banbury has been arrested on suspicion of possession of an offensive weapon in a public place. He has been released on bail until April 4.
