Man threatened with chainsaw during theft in Banbury

A Banbury man who spotted the theft of several chainsaws in town found himself threatened with one of them after he approached the offenders.

Thames Valley Police are looking for information into the theft of four chainsaws from a business van in Browning Road, Banbury. The theft happened around 2.45pm yesterday, Monday December 14.

A spokesperson for the Thames Valley Police said: "An unknown offender approached a van parked in the road, opened it and stole four chainsaws. A man approached the offender who then swung at him (with a chainsaw). The offender then made off. The man was uninjured."

The offender(s) escaped with the chainsaws travelling in a silver Toyota Avensis.
