Man taken to hospital after assault outside Banbury nightclub

Thames Valley Police are looking for witnesses to an assault outside a nightclub in the Banbury town centre.

The assault happened during a fight between a group of between eight and 11 men outside the Venus night club near the junction of Broad Street and George Street in the town. The assault and fight occurred around 2.55am last Saturday September 5.

As a result of the fight, a man aged in his early 20s suffered a cut to his eye and a minor head injury. The victim received treatment for his injuries at the Horton General Hospital. He has since been discharged.

The offender is described as a white man aged in his early 20s with dark short hair.

Investigating officer PC Bethany Foster, based at Banbury police station, said: “As a result of this fight, one of the men was left with a head injury which required hospital treatment.

“I am aware that there were many members of the public at the scene when police arrived, and I am appealing to anybody who witnessed what happened and have not already spoken to us, to please get in touch.
