Man seriously injured during assault in Banbury over Bank Holiday weekend

A man was left injured after an assault while he walked home with his partner in Banbury.

The incident happened while a couple walked home around 10.30pm on Sunday May 2 along Sideleigh Road, Bodicote.

The woman was walking ahead and lost sight of her partner, when the woman retraced her steps she found her partner lying down with a serious unexplained head injury.

The victim suffered injuries to his head and required treatment at the Horton General Hospital.

Officers believe an altercation took place which led to the victim’s injuries.

It is believed two men were seen running away towards East Street. No descriptions are available at this time.

Thames Valley Police is appealing for witnesses following an assault in Banbury.
