Man sentenced to prison for sexual assault in Banbury town centre

A man who subjected a woman to a serious sexual assault in Banbury town centre has been jailed.

Silviu-Marian Stirlea pleaded guilty to sexual assault and was sentenced to 10 months in prison.

Stirlea, of Broome Way, Banbury was also ordered to sign the Sex Offenders' Register for ten years and to pay a £149 victim surcharge.

The case, investigated by Thames Valley Police detectives, included CCTV evidence from cameras located in Banbury High Street.
