Man sentenced for driving in Banbury with excess cannabis, cocaine and ecstasy in his blood - Court Report

A man was disqualified from driving and ordered to undertake 120 hours of unpaid work after he pleaded guilty to driving in Banbury with excess cannabis, cocaine and ecstasy in his blood.

Matthew Thomas Brain, 39, of Graham Road, Bicester pleaded guilty to driving a VW Camper Van in Wildmere Road, Banbury on July 8 with excess cannabis in his blood. He also pleaded guilty to driving with excess cocaine in his blood on the same day in Wildmere Road. He also pleaded guilty to driving on the same day with excess ecstasy in his blood. Brain was subjected to a community order requiring him to carry out 120 hours of work. He was also disqualified from driving for 18 months.

Roy Andrew Manock, 37, of Albert Street, Banbury pleaded guilty to entering Zinc Nightclub with intent to steal on September 8. Manock was subjected to a 12 month community order requiring him to undergo treatment for alcohol dependency. He was also ordered to pay £360 compensation. Manock also pleaded guilty to assaulting a man in Banbury on the same day. He also pleaded guilty to failing to surrender to custody on October 7.

Daniel Stubbs, 42, of Blenheim Road, Banbury pleaded guilty to drink driving in a Jaguar car in Cherwell Street, Banbury on September 12. He had 111 micrograms of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath against a legal limit of 35 micrograms. Stubbs was ordered to carry out 50 hours of unpaid work. He was also ordered to pay a £95 victim surcharge and £85 court costs. Stubbs was disqualified from holding or obtaining a driving licence for 26 months.

Shane Given, 29, of Lavendar Close, Banbury was fined £100 for failing to abide by a community order made by Leamington Magistrates to attend an appointment with his responsible officer.

Emily Elizabeth Garrett, 26, of Thornbury Rise, Banbury was fined £660 for failing to give information relating to the driver of a vehicle alleged to have been guilty of an offence on August 23. Garrett was ordered to pay a £66 victim surcharge and £90 court costs. Her driving record was endorsed with six penalty points.

Damien Cooney, 34, of Newlands, King’s Sutton was fined £660 for driving in Oxford Road, Banbury without insurance. He was ordered to pay a £66 victim surcharge and court costs of £90. He was also disqualified from holding or obtaining a driving licence for six months.

Florin Stanescu, 40, of Prescott Avenue, Banbury was fined £660 for using a motor vehicle on South Street, Banbury without insurance on April 5. Stanescu was ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £66 and £90 court costs. He was disualified from holding or obtaining a driving licence for six months.

Ellis Hall, 20, of Newlands, Daventry pleaded guilty to being in possession of a quantity of cannabis in Banbury on November 8 with intent to supply. He was subjected to a community order for rehabilitation activity. Hall was also fined £69 and ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £90. A sum of £1,000 was to be forfeited under the Misuse of Drugs Act 1971 . The drugs were forfeited and destroyed. Hall also pleaded guilty to possession of cannabis with intent to supply in Banbury on July 12. He was subjected to a rehabilitation order and the drugs were forfeited and destroyed.

Fenton Billy Osbourne, 52, of Southam Road, Banbury pleaded guilty to driving a Vauxhall Corsa with excess cannabis in his blood in Oxford Road, Bicester on January 8. He was fined £120 and ordered to pay a £32 victim surcharge. Osbourne was disqualified from holding or obtaining a driving licence for 12 months.

Craig Barnes, 45, of The Crescent, Steeple Aston was fined £220 for driving at 36mph in a 30mph speed limit in Ardley Road, Middleton Stoney on March 16. Barnes was ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £32 and court costs of £90. His driving record was endorsed with three penalty points.
