Man and teenager injured in fight with youths in Banbury - police appeal for information

A teenage boy sustained minor injuries in the fight.

At around 6.15pm on Sunday, January 5 an altercation took place between a man in his fifties and a group of youths in the alleyway between Christchurch Court and Bridge Street.

"The man sustained a black eye and bruising to his head, back and abdomen. He received hospital treatment but has since been discharged," a police spokesman said.

"Another victim, a teenage boy, sustained minor injuries, including scratches to his throat."

The group of youths are described as being between 14-years-old and 18-years-old and all were wearing tracksuits.

Investigating officer, PC Lucy Henderson-Slater, based at Banbury police station, said: "I am appealing for anyone who may have witnessed this incident, or who has any information about what happened to please come forward.

"Anyone with information is asked to call police on the non-emergency number 101, or make a report online, quoting reference 43200004673.
