Lorry transporting Mercedes cars crashes into a ditch in Northamptonshire forcing the closure of the A361

Part of the A361 in Northamptonshire is closed this afternoon after a lorry carrying a load of cars jackknifed and went into a ditch.

The car transporter full of Mercedes is reported to have slid in the snow at around 2.05pm on the A361 near Charwelton.

The lorry is currently blocking the road and police have closed the A361 from the Charwelton crossroads to the mini-roundabout in Byfield.

According to a spokesman for Northamptonshire, the wheels of the lorry have come off the back axel and the front of the vehicle is in a ditch.

There were no injures as a result of the crash.

A recovery vehicle is on its way to the scene.
