Hedgerows set on fire in Brackley arson

Police are looking for information in a fire investigators have determined to be arson in Brackley earlier this week.

Firefighters from the Brackley station were called to two small fires involving grass and hedgerows in the Humphries Drive of town around 5.35pm on Tuesday August 11.

The crew discovered the fire was out on arrival and extinguished by a local resident using a bucket of water.

A spokesperson for Northamptonshire Police confirmed officers are investigating the incident as arson.

Police said: "It involved a group of young people using aerosols to set fire to a set of hedgerows."

South Northamptonshire Police posted a message about the incident on Twitter which said: "Anyone with information on the fire started in Humphries Drive on the evening of Tuesday 11 August please contact our team with any further details.

"Parents please talk to your teenagers about keeping themselves and others safe. An arson has now been recorded."

The South Northamptonshire Police also said officers are investigating the incident as arson due to information from the community and Items left at the location confirmed by the Northampstonshire Fire and Rescue Service.
