Fines issued for breaking lockdown rules, drink driving, assault and theft in the Banbury area

This week's court report includes cases relating to a man from Byfield who did not observe lockdown rules and was fined by Oxford magistrates.

Ashley Stuart Watts, 29, of Fessey Road, Byfield was fined £120 for leaving his accommodation in Ruislip, Hillingdon and going to Middleton Road, Banbury on April 16 during the coronavirus emergency period. Watts was ordered to pay a £34 victim surcharge and £85 costs.

Brummie Aldridge of King George’s Field, Stow on the Wold pleaded guilty to aggravated vehicle taking on January 1 and property damage caused by a collision with another vehicle. Aldridge took a Nissan Nivar car without consent from Chipping Norton. Aldridge was ordered to pay £1,500 compensation and disqualified from holding or obtaining a driving licence for 12 months. He also pleaded guilty to driving without a licence or insurance. No separate penalty was imposed. A charge of failing to stop after a road accident was withdrawn in return for guilty pleas for the other charges.

Artur Piotr Marzec, 39, of Winters Way, Bloxham pleaded guilty to drink driving in a Saab car in Tadmarton Road on April 27. Marzec had 87 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath. He was fined £300 and ordered to pay a £34 victim surcharge and £85 court costs. He was disqualified from holding or obtaining a licence for 22 months. Marzec also pleaded guilty to driving without a licence. There was no separate penalty.

Michael Cowley of Deacon Way, Banbury was fined £220 for travelling on Great Western Railway without paying a £11.70 fare on December 16, 2019. Cowley was ordered to pay £11.70 compensation, a victim surcharge of £32 and £160 in court costs.

JJ Mooney of Dashwood Rise, Duns Tew was fined £220 for travelling on Great Western Railway on February 4 without having paid a £6.40 fare at Tackley. Mooney was ordered to pay compensation of £6.40, a victim surcharge of £32 and costs of £160.

Jonathan Jordan Mooney, 37, of Dashwood Rise, Duns Tew was fined £220 for travelling on Great Western Railway on January 20 without paying a £6.40 fare at Tackley. He was ordered to pay compensation of £6.40, a victim surcharge of £32 and costs of £160.

Slawonir Mossakowski, 47, of Ferriston, Banbury pleaded guilty to drink driving in a BMW car in Ermont Way, Banbury on May 3. He had 104 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath. He was ordered to carry out 80 hours of unpaid work, pay a £95 victim surcharge and £85 court costs. Mossakowski was disqualified from holding or obtaining a driving licence for 26 months.

Arron Joines, 33, of Oxford Road, Banbury was fined £200 for criminal damage to a car tyre on February 29. Joines destroyed the tyre valued at £40. He was ordered to pay £52 compensation.

Hasan Zubair, 19, of Alma Road, Banbury pleaded guilty to assaulting a man in Banbury on May 24. He was fined £60. Zubair also pleaded guilty to theft of a doorbell valued at £89 belonging to the same man. He was ordered to pay £89 compensation, a victim surcharge of £34 and court costs of £85.

Heather Eisenhut, 41, of Temple Mill Road, Sibford Gower was fined £660 for failing to give information relating to the identity of the driver of a Volvo, alleged to be guilty of an offence. She was ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £66 and costs of £85. Eisenhut’s licence was endorsed with six penalty points. A charge of speeding in a 30mph limit in Tadmarton was withdrawn.

Fouad Ataf Fayed Fouad, 35, of Marlborough Road, Banbury was fined £119 for exceeding the 70mph speed limit on the M40 between Junctions 8-6 on June 17. Fouad was ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £32 and court costs of £85. His driving record was endorsed with three penalty points.

Keith Johnston, 46, of Winter Gardens Way, Banbury was fined £660 for driving on Southam Road, Banbury without insurance. He was ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £66 and court costs of £85. His driving record was endorsed with six penalty points.
