Brackley man sentenced in child sex case

Following a Thames Valley Police investigation, a man has been sentenced for sexual offences in Oxford.

Stuart Hubble, aged 50, of Lark Rise, Brackley was sentenced to 12 months’ imprisonment suspended for two years’ at Oxford Crown Court on Monday, January 21.

Hubble pleaded guilty at a previous hearing to three counts of sexual activity with a girl aged between 13 and 17 as an adult, abusing his position of trust. He was a music teacher at an Oxford school.

He was also made subject to a Sexual Harm Prevention Order for a period of five years.

This sentence is in relation to offences that occurred between February 2018 and August 2019 in which Hubble engaged in sexual activity with a pupil.

Investigation officer, Detective Constable Karen Zoldan, of the Child Abuse Investigation Unit, based at Cowley police station, said: “Hubble behaved in a completely unacceptable way.

“He abused his position and took advantage of a child.

“I would like to take this opportunity to thank the victim for the bravery she has shown in coming forward and reporting this to us.

“She has also shown courage throughout the investigation.

“Thames Valley Police take all reports of this nature seriously and work hard to bring offenders to justice.”
