Banbury woman sent to prison for 16 weeks after stealing meat from Marks and Spencer

Ella Natalia Henrietta Pecko, 30, of Castle Street, Banbury was sentenced to 14 weeks in prison after pleading guilty to three cases of theft from Marks and Spencer, Banbury and two more weeks for failing to meet commitments after a previous period in jail.

Pecko stole meat products worth £110 on September 11, 2020; she stole meat valued at £250 on September 16, 2020 and she stole meat items to the value of £150 on September 18, 2020. She also admitted failing to surrender to custody at Banbury Police Station as required to do on October 16, 2020.

Magistrates imposed the jail sentence because of Pecko’s previous record and failure to address drug issues.

The following cases were also heard at Oxford Magistrates’ Court:

Scott Darren Arnold, 30, of Ferriston, Banbury pleaded guilty to driving a Renault Megane car in Evenlode, Banbury on October 22, 2020 without insurance. He was disqualified from holding or obtaining a licence for six months and ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £34 and court costs of £85. Arnold also pleaded guilty to driving without a licence on the same occasion. There was no separate penalty for this offence.

Haydn Shaun Tobin, 18, of The Square, Abingdon pleaded guilty to assaulting an emergency care assistant in Banbury on June 7, 2020. He was fined £400 and ordered to pay compensation of £75. Tobin was also ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £40 with court costs of £85.

Krsysztof Karbowniczek, 28, of Victoria Place, Banbury pleaded guilty to driving a Volkswagon Golf in St Hilda’s Court, Aylesbury on October 31, 2020 while unfit through drink. He was banned from driving for 48 months and ordered to complete a thinking-skills programme and 140 hours of unpaid work.

Karbowniczek also pleaded guilty to driving without insurance on the same occasion. There was no separate penalty for this offence. He also pleaded guilty to drink driving in Chatsworth Drive, Chesterfield, Derbyshire on June 27, 2020. He had 65 micrograms of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath.

He pleaded guilty, further, to driving without a licence or insurance. And he pleaded guilty to failing to surrender to custody at Chesterfield Police Station as required on July 29, 2020. He was ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £95 and court costs of £85.

Martin Joseph Risi, 32, of Cornish Road, Chipping Norton pleaded guilty to drink driving in a Citroen Picasso in Cornish Road, Chipping Norton on September 23, 2020. He had 136 micrograms of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath – nearly four times the legal limit. He was disqualified from driving for three years and ordered to undergo treatment for alcohol dependency with Turning Point over a period of 12 months. Risi was ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £95 and court costs of £85.

Nicola Anne Amies, 47, of South Side, Steeple Aston pleaded guilty to breaking the 30mph speed limit in a Volkswagon car in Ardley Road, Middleton Stoney on January 6, 2020. Her recorded speed was 35mph. Amies was fined £100 and ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £32. Her driving record was endorsed with three penalty points.

Ray Jason Rigby, 34, of Prescott Avenue, Banbury pleaded guilty to harassment of a person in Banbury via telephone and text. He also pleaded guilty to contravening a community order made by Oxford magistrates on February 17, 2020 by failing to attend two supervision appointments without reasonable excuse. Rigby was subjected to a rehabilitation activity requirement.

John Francis McKee, 49, of Wise Close, Bodicote was found guilty of driving a vehicle at Tesco, Bicester on September 28 without insurance. He was fined £440 and ordered to pay a £44 victim surcharge and £90 court costs. His licence was endorsed with six penalty points. McKee was also found guilty of driving without a licence on the same occasion. There was no separate penalty for this offence.
