Banbury man arrested in connection to criminal closure of property in Bicester

The closure order was granted by Oxford Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday July 1, and will last for three months.

Officers applied for the order against the property in Colne Close following reports of criminal activity, including drug dealing, which was causing alarm and distress to the local residents in the area.

The closure order prohibits anyone other than specified persons listed on the order from entering the property. Anyone not named who enters the address will commit a criminal offence.

Neighbourhood Officer PC Matthew Longman said: “We recognise the impact that this behaviour has on the local community. This closure order sends a clear message that this kind of behaviour will not be tolerated.

“We will always seek to tackle anti-social behaviour and safeguard our communities by using the powers available to us to disrupt those who choose to act in this way.”

Police arrested a 25-year-old man from Banbury was arrested on suspicion of concern in the supply of class A drugs. He has been released on police bail until July 25.

Police also arrested a 20-year-old man of no fixed abode on suspicion of criminal damage to the property. He has been released on police bail until July 25.
