Assault in Banbury High Street leaves two people injured

An assault in the High Street of Banbury last weekend left two people injured, including one man hospitalised.

Thames Valley Police has launched an appeal for witnesses following an altercation in Banbury which resulted in two people suffering injuries.

The incident happened after there was an altercation in the High Street outside the Greggs store and also in White Lion Walk involving a group of up to five people. The incident happened at at 7pm on Saturday June 12.

As a result, one man suffered a broken jaw which required hospital treatment, and the second suffered hand injuries. The first victim remains in hospital. The second victim did not require hospital treatment.

One of the offenders is described as a mixed race man, who was tall and of a skinny build. He was believed to be aged in his late teens or early 20s.

Another offender was a white man, who was tall and had fair hair, believe to be aged in his 30s.

There are currently no other descriptions available.

Investigating officer, PC Benjamin Tims, of Banbury police station, said: “This was a particularly violent incident which has caused two people to sustain injuries, one of whom remains in hospital.
