The evidence was heard by jury members sitting in Oxford Crown Court on the second day of the trial of Andrew Parsons, 38, who stands accused of murdering his wife Janee at their home in Lucerne Avenue on December 1 last year.

He has pleaded not guilty to the charge.

A recording device the prosecution alleges was planted by Parsons as the couple’s relationship deteriorated picked up the moment Janee was fatally injured.

“Are you going to kill me?,” she can be heard pleading.

One of the couple’s young sons can be heard screaming in the background, and Janee can be heard saying, “No, no” and “I’m dying” during the recording.

At one point she says: “Your son is watching me die, Andrew.”

The defendant kept his face turned away from the public gallery during much of the audio evidence, and had to be passed tissues after he began to sob.

Yesterday, Monday, the court heard the opening statements by the prosecution, which described how Janee was unhappy in the marriage and wanted to divorce her husband.

The trial continues.
