Banbury Camera Club (BCC) is urging the public to get involved in its new photography competition to discover ‘Hidden Banbury’.
The month-long competition will start accepting entries on Sunday, April 2 and will run until April 30.
Open to all members of the public, except current BCC members, the competition will encourage entrants to submit photographs that highlight the town in new and unusual ways in keeping with its title, ‘Hidden Banbury’.
Photographs can be submitted via the club’s social media platforms and marks a first for BCC in its 70-year history.
Steve Gold of BCC said: “We’re trying, with it being a social media competition, to get some younger people involved so the club can run for the next 70 years.”
One winner per week will be voted for by the public and another will be picked by a panel of three judges, with the four-to-eight overall finalists being chosen by the judging panel.
Prizes will be awarded both to the weekly winner and eventual top three finalists.
These include publication of the winning photo in Four Shires magazine, and a professionally-framed presentation of their photograph.
