The tenants of a popular arts venue in Banbury have announced they will leave the business at the end of the year.

Suzette Watson and Jake Pell took on the Castle House in Cornhill 16 months ago and transformed it into a hub of music, comedy and arts.

Their final event is on New Year’s Eve but after that Suzette will remain in the town to promote events in pubs and empty spaces as part of her Planet Neptune project, while Jake will return to university.

Speaking on the Castle House Facebook page, Suzette said: “From exhibitions, poetry, comedy, dance and theatre to our brilliant music programme, we’ve been host to some amazing talent and been privileged to host incredible events in a wonderful building.

The real force behind our success has been the awesome team of people – staff and artists – who have contributed to building the unique environment and atmosphere. This is a great ending to one chapter of our work and the start of the next story in the series.”
