Cold War drama puts spies and lies back on the agenda

A Soviet operation in England from the 1950s until 1961 –The Portland Spy Ring – forms the basis of the Banbury Cross Players’ next production, Pack of Lies by Hugh Whitemore.

Actors Andy Crump, Kate Fricke, Sarah Lonton, John McCormick, Helen Watson, Kate Groves and Philip Fine, pictured here, will be helping to take audiences back to a time when the intelligence services of the major powers were trying to outwit each other and get hold of vital state secrets.

This intriguing play runs from next Wednesday, February 4 to Saturday, February 7, at 7.45pm, at The Mill Arts Centre.
