Between August 30 and the end of November, Graham Construction will carry out various resurfacing and relining works to the council’s public car parks in Banbury with a view to completing the upgrade in time for Christmas.

Councillor George Reynolds, Cherwell’s deputy leader, said: “As a matter of course we do address any issues with the car parks as soon as they are reported to us. However every couple of years we undertake a routine upgrade which involves a general spruce up of all of the sites.

“There will be unavoidable car park closures to allow the line repainting and so we will be undertaking this work on a Sunday when the car parks are least busy and when it will have the least impact on permit holders. We apologise for any disruption during this maintenance period; we will do our best to advertise any works in advance to minimise the impact on users and have the car parks looking their best for the run up to Christmas.”

Works on the car parks will be put on hold in October to allow for the annual fair which uses a number of town centre car parks. Cherwell is responsible for 16 car parks in Banbury and the Bridge Street drop off point.
