Chiltern Railways to provide free travel on race day for London Marathon runners

Chiltern Railways has announced that once again they will provide free travel to the London Marathon for competitors if they show their official race day tabard.

And to encourage competitors to go the extra mile at the event on April 24, the railway provider are offering two additional trains before usual start up time to ensure London Marathon runners get to the start line with plenty of time to spare.

The company have added a train at 0640 from Banbury to Marylebone calling at Bicester North, Haddenham & Thame Parkway, High Wycombe, Beaconsfield and Gerrards Cross and a train at 0700 from Aylesbury to Marylebone calling at Princes Risborough, High Wycombe, Beaconsfield, Gerrards Cross, Denham and South Ruislip.

Jennifer Payne, Customer Service Director at Chiltern Railways said: “The London Marathon is a fantastic event which raises money for many worthy charities every year. To show our support, we are also offering those competing in the London Marathon two additional early services and a free return journey with us simply by presenting their official race day tabard.”
