A former professional basketball player who launched a camp for children in Banbury during the Easter holidays has said it has gone ‘better than he could have expected.’

Richard Moses is at North Oxfordshire Academy this week to help raise the profile of the sport in the area, and has spoken of his delight at how the camp has been received by both parents, children and schools. Mr Moses, who enjoyed a 26-year career in the sport, hopes to establish a programme in Banbury by September and said: “It has taken us a long time to get here but the reaction has been absolutely tremendous. We will look to start at the Warriner School and the Space Studio in Banbury when the term resumes.

“The feedback from parents and children has been great. Some only came on the first day to see what it was like and are now asking if we can come to their school. It’s been amazing.”
