The life-saving work of Thames Valley Air Ambulance has been recognised by Banbury Rotaract who presented the charity with a cheque for £500.

Outgoing president Kyle Harper said: “It’s a great cause – they pretty much carry a whole A&E department on board a helicopter and are usually on the scene of an accident within 15 minutes, well within the ‘golden hour’ necessary to save a life.”

Mr Harper added: “It was money left in the pot after my year as president.

“We donate to mainly local charities and raise money at local events like village fetes, the Banbury Show, Banbury Canal Day, Christmas markets and quiz nights.”

Rotaract supports local communities and charities and is aimed at anyone aged between 18 and 30.

The club meets at Ye Old Reindeer pub at 7pm each Wednesday.
