George Huxley who will be playing at Age UK Oxfordshire's jazz picnic at Rousham Park

The man described by the late Humprey Lyttleton as ‘the Midlands best kept secret and a world class musician’ is appearing at Age UK Oxfordshire’s jazz picnic at Rousham Park & Gardens on Friday (July 3) from 7.30pm - 9pm.

George Huxley will be joined by Brian Mellor on banjo and guitar with Gordon Whitworth on trumpet, Ron Hills on trombone and John Fellowes on bass.

George is much in demand as a clarinettist, soprano and saxophonist. His soaring soprano has been compared to that of the legendary Sidney Bechet.

He has two jazz bands in addition to being a member of the Fryer-Barnhart International All Star Jazz Band. He also fronts Reeds United with John Maddocks.

The audience is invited to bring picnics and enjoy an evening of traditional jazz by kind permission of Mr and Mrs Charles Cottrell Dormer.

> Tickets are £15 each from Age UK Oxfordshire on 01295 278040 or 0345 4501276.
