Charity golf day tees drives up a fantastic tally
In total 27 teams of four took part in the Cherwell Edge Golf Club event earlier this month.

Hide AdThe winners of this year’s Michael Jones Jeweller Trophy for the team posting the best overall score were team Allsorts, from King’s Sutton headed by Glenn Jones. The Mike Swann Solutions Ladies Trophy was won by Sue Lakin.
Now in its seventh year, the Golf Day has become a focal point of the charity’s fundraising calendar, this year raising £11,066.
All of the money will be used by the charity to enrich the lives of people with physical disabilities.

Hide AdA charity auction followed the golf with lots such as an Aston Martin F1 Team Jacket donated by David Richards of Prodrive and Graham Norton Show tickets up for grabs. In total the auction raised £2,750.
Dean Davis, with help from Graham Linnett, entertained players with his trick shot show, making a further £500 for the charity.
Organiser and Enrych volunteer, Elaine Gilbert, said: “I would like to thank the new main sponsors Norbar Torque Tools, Spratt Endicott Solicitors and Whitley Stimpson who without their support and that of trophy sponsors, Michael Jones Jeweller, Mike Swann Solutions, the event could not happen.
“Thanks also to Jason Roberts-Newman, club professional and manager of Cherwell Edge, owner Jim Gallant, and all bar, kitchen and pro-shop staff for being so welcoming.” she added.
