Charity golf day tees drives up a fantastic tally

Enrych's annual Golf Day fundraising event saw dozens of players hit the fairways generating thousands of pounds for the physical disability charity.

In total 27 teams of four took part in the Cherwell Edge Golf Club event earlier this month.

The winners of this year’s Michael Jones Jeweller Trophy for the team posting the best overall score were team Allsorts, from King’s Sutton headed by Glenn Jones. The Mike Swann Solutions Ladies Trophy was won by Sue Lakin.

Now in its seventh year, the Golf Day has become a focal point of the charity’s fundraising calendar, this year raising £11,066.

All of the money will be used by the charity to enrich the lives of people with physical disabilities.

A charity auction followed the golf with lots such as an Aston Martin F1 Team Jacket donated by David Richards of Prodrive and Graham Norton Show tickets up for grabs. In total the auction raised £2,750.

Dean Davis, with help from Graham Linnett, entertained players with his trick shot show, making a further £500 for the charity.
