A Banbury company specialising in electrical and mechanical fixings will host a fun day this weekend raising money for Banbury charities whilst offering the chance to take home some amazing raffle prizes.
Walraven, located on Banbury’s Thorpe Way Industrial estate, will host its Family Fun Day on Saturday, September 15 between 3pm and 8pm.
There will be the usual fun day activities including a bouncy castle, hook a duck and cake decorating for the kids, air hockey and a football table for teens and pillow bash, stocks and a cash bar for adults.
Star of the fun day will be the raffle which includes thousands of pounds worth of high end home entertainment products as the main prizes.
The top prize is a new Dell Inspiron 15 7000 laptop, donated by Walraven, in second place is a Blaupunkt 40” smart TV, followed by a luxury hamper, donated by Hawkins Banbury, an Amazon Echo, donated by Pertemps and an Amazon Fire Tablet donated by Ellacotts.
Also up for grabs in the raffle, with tickets costing just £1 individually or £5 a book, is a signed Banbury United football shirt; a kids VW ride on, donated by Johnson Fleet Services; a photoshoot; Prosecco and glasses hamper; wine and glasses hamper; a tea and coffee set; a £25 voucher for The Old Auctioneer in Parson’s Street; a Barcelona football shirt and a Gymophobics voucher.
Proceeds from the fun day will be donated locally to both Banbury’s Let’s Play Project and Katharine House Hospice along with donations to national charities the MS Society and Papyrus; the prevention of young suicide charity.
The donations are part of Walraven’s ongoing fundraising efforts for their in house’ charity, Walraven Community Support, which was set up three years ago to support causes close to employees hearts .
Kate Humphries, finance manager, said: “So far in total we have raised approximately £18,000, with support from head office, by holding local fund raising events, bike rides, fun days, cake sales, parachute jumps to name just a few.
“We are very proud of what we have raised so far but don’t want to stop there.”
Joanne Eagle, credit controller, added: “These are all subjects very close to our employees hearts and it is a real honour to be able to give something back.”
Tickets to the fun day are £5 for adults, £3 for children or £15 for a family (2 adults and 3 children) which include a buffet lunch.
