Chance to have a go at sailing

The nationwide ‘have a go’ festival, organised by sailing’s national governing body, gives everyone the chance to get on the water for free or at a low cost.

Banbury Sailing Club, on Boddington Reservoir near Byfield, will welcome people to have a go on Sunday, May 15, as one six Northamptonshire clubs and centres set to run Push The Boat Out events.

Each event is different, and events can include dinghy sailing, windsurfing, big boats and yachts and even powerboat rides.

More than 65,000 people have discovered the sport through Push The Boat Out since its launch in 2012.

The 2015 Push The Boat Out saw almost 28,500 newcomers attend events at almost 350 locations across the UK.
