Banbury’s Spit ‘n’ Sawdust gym will be hosting their annual amateur boxing show featuring home grown fighters representing both Spit ‘‘n Sawdust and Banbury Boxing Club pitting their skills against boxers from across the UK.

The club have also landed somewhat of a knockout blow as, for the first time, the show will also be the stage for the divisional round of the AIBA Elite Senior Championships where the best boxers from the Home Counties will be competing in the first round of the National Championships.

Dave Earle, proprietor of Spit ‘n’ Sawdust said: “I entered the divisional Championships six times when I was boxing, winning them on five occasions so it is an honour to be chosen to stage them.

“We have been hosting boxing events at Spiceball Leisure Centre for ten years, so feel honoured to be asked to stage the completion.

“There are 16 bouts scheduled at the moment so it should be a fantastic night of boxing for Banbury. I am hoping we get our usual support that make Banbury one of the best supported amateur boxing events in the country“

The Saturday March 25 show starts at 7pm. Tickets are adults £10, children £5, available on the door or from Dave’s North Bar gym..
