CCTV images released in relation to Banbury theft
At approximately 1.30pm on Sunday, August 14, a 63-year-old woman had her purse removed from her handbag whilst shopping in Aldi in Banbury.
The victim was shielded from other shoppers after one of the suspects appeared to be looking at a blanket. Within minutes of the incident, the victim’s bank cards had been used in the nearby Tesco supermarket for a high value purchase.

Investigating Officer PC Suzanne Goodman, based at Banbury police station, said: “The victim had her handbag over her shoulder, so was taking steps to avoid this type of risk. It seems these offenders were determined and well versed in what they needed to do.
“I would encourage everyone to ensure that their personal belongings are secure on their person when out in public places and be mindful of those around you in retail environments where you are most likely to be using cash, cards or a mobile phone for payment.
“I would like to talk to anyone who may have any information which they think could help our investigation into this incident. Please get in touch by calling the Thames Valley Police enquiry centre on 101.”
