A seven-year-old boy from Banbury was in front of the CBeebies cameras for an
episode of My Pet and Me.

The programme sees how children look after their pets, and Thomas King, a pupil at Hill View Primary School in Banbury, was chosen after his mum Nicky wrote on the CBeebies Facebook page about their cats Izzy, Max and Tigs.

Mrs King said: “One of the directors, Rachel Bazeley, was very interested in Thomas and team members made a first visit last year, in which they filmed an interview with him telling them about our pets. They loved Thomas.”

Filming was then set for September 3-5 and despite two of the family cats going missing during the three days, the programme was completed and aired for the first time on January 30. Mrs King added: “It was excellent weather and Ferne, the new presenter, was an absolute pleasure to meet along with all the crew, including Andrew Agnew as the director.

“The last day was very emotional as we had all got on famously. It was more of a family catch-up, with lots of comedy moments.”
