Two people from Banbury are believed to have died in a car crash near Stow-on-the-Wold on Boxing Day.

At about 2.30pm a black Kia and a vehicle transporting horses were in collision on the A436 towards Chipping Norton.

The driver of the Kia, a man, and a passenger in the same car, a woman, were sadly pronounced deceased at the scene. Their next of kin have been informed.

A horse was also injured.

Formal identification is still yet to take place but it is believed the two people who died were a 67-year-old man and a 58-year-old woman.

Anyone who witnessed the collision is asked to call police on 101 quoting incident 161 of Saturday 26 December.
