A 53-year-old woman sustained head and leg injuries following a serious road traffic collision near Deddington yesterday (Sunday).
She was driving a silver Peugeot 307 when it left the road at Iron Down Hill as she was driving west towards the A361 and Chipping Norton. The vehicle then collided with a tree.
The woman was trapped in the vehicle and firefighters from Banbury, Deddington as well as a rescue appliance from Kidlington worked quickly to remove the roof and create access to be able to free the casualty.
She was taken to the John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford via police helicopter and police are appealing to anyone who saw the vehicle prior to the incident to come forward.
