Hermoine Crawford said meat should be highly provenanced, high welfare and treated with respect, plus reared by people who are getting a living wage.

“If you order from us you get all of that, plus top quality meat at a very good price, and the warm glow of knowing you are directly supporting British farming and an independent, family-run farm,” she said.

Hermoine, who runs the farm with her father David, said they supply lamb to pubs, restaurants and hotels across the region who have commended its quality.

Purston Lamb’s livestock travels less than 35 miles between the farm, the abattoir and the butcher in Brackley.

The farmers also have recipes on its website to show customers the diversity of the meat.
