A family-run building products firm with a trade counter in Banbury is celebrating 25 years in business.

General Building Plastics, or GB Plastics, was founded in 1990 and opened a 1,400 sq ft trade counter in Thorpe Close, Banbury in 2006 before moving to bigger premises on the Swan Industrial Estate in March 2013.

The company’s founder, Janet Sutherland, continues to work in the business alongside her son Alan and eldest daughter Wendy Hill, both directors.

Mrs Hill said: “We are delighted to be celebrating 25 years in business, and are as proud of our heritage and success today as we were when mum started the business back in 1990.

“Whilst so much has changed in the building and building products industries over the past 25 years, we remained focused on offering an extensive range of high-quality products at a competitive price.”

The business will celebrate the milestone until the end of the year, with a number of special offers, promotions, gifts and prizes. As well as a counter in Banbury, GB Plastics has its head office in Staffordshire and other counters in Shrewsbury, Walsall and Kettering.
