Newly-promoted Banbury have an exciting new addition in the shape of Jaz Singh and a new coach in Gurdial Randhawa to boost their campaign back in the top flight.

Banbury start with a trip to Spencer in West London who finished mid table last season, followed in the first week of October with a first home fixture against Indian Gymkhana.

Barney Williams and George Brooker continue as joint first team captains hoping to continue the form with which Banbury ended last season and grasp the opportunity that a reorganisation of the league structures can offer. A top four finish this season could open the door to the National League and a landmark for the club by joining the very top levels of the sport and continue the remarkable turn-around after bouncing straight back from the relegation two seasons ago.

Banbury have high hopes to consolidate and then build toward a top four finish, and manager Steve Brooker said: “There are some great positives to be taken from this game with the side settling into their stride and showing some of it’s potential. We have a fantastic opportunity this year back in the top level of the national cup competition and with national league status within our sights.

“It is all there, we just need to find the consistency of performance that can grasp the chance we have been given.”
