BREAKING: Severe delays and stationary traffic before J10 of M40 following crash

Motorists can expect severe delays on the M40 near junction ten (Ardley) southbound this afternoon (Thursday) following a crash involving a coach and a car.

Thames Valley Police were called at about 2pm to a report of the collision involving a Vauxhall Astra and a single decker bus on the southbound carriageway between junctions 11 (Banbury) and ten, just before the service station.

One woman in the car was injured and taken to the John Radcliffe Hosptial in Oxford with injuries which are not believed to be life-threatening.

Two lanes were closed while recovery of the car took place and the bus sustained only minor damage and was able to go on its way. No one was injured on the bus.

The two lanes are now open and running and the third lane is expected to re-open shortly.

Delays of about 20 minutes are expected.
