Two people have died in a light aircraft crash at Enstone Airfield this evening (Friday).
The pilot, a man aged in his sixties, and the passenger, a man aged in his fifties, have both died.
Their next kin have been informed.
Firefighters from Charlbury and Chipping Norton as well as a specialist rescue team from Kidlington also attended to assist colleagues from South Central Ambulance Service (SCAS).
Incident Commander Mick Clarke of Oxfordshire Fire and Rescue Service said: “This was a tragic incident that has led to two lives being lost. We attended the scene to assist both the ambulance and police service before handing over to the Air Accident Investigation Branch (AAIB). Our thoughts are with the family of those involved.”
The AAIB and will be conducting an investigation into the crash.
