Ten gardens in Hornton and its village allotments were opened up to the public on Sunday and raised more than £1,000 for Katharine House Hospice and village causes.
Despite the wet weather in the morning, the gardens dried out when it mattered and those attending walked among the pretty landscapes, which also raised funds for the parish church and pavilion.
The event was part of Katharine House Hospice’s Festival of Open Gardens, and the village host an event every two years. This year’s total is some way off their best when they managed to raise £2,000 in 2013. The next open garden for the hospice is at the Old Vicarage in Bledington on July 12. Visit www.khh.org.uk
