Big stars to appear at Chipping Norton festival

A host of big names from the world of entertainment, acting, comedy and food will be talking about their latest books at the Chipping Norton Literary Festival.

Actor Brian Blessed, comedian and actor Ben Miller, broadcaster Stuart Maconie and judge on The Great British Menu Prue Leith will be appearing at the festival running from Thursday, April 21, to Sunday, April 24.

Brian Blessed is well known for roles in the films Flash Gordon and the Star Wars movies while Ben Miller has appeared in Death in Paradise and has worked extensively alongside Alexander Armstrong.

Stuart Maconie has worked on Radio 2, 3 and 4 while Prue Leith is the founder of a famous cookery school and a Michelin-starred restaurant.

Also appearing is Joanne Harris, acclaimed author of Chocolat who has a new novel published on the opening day of the festival.

Starter for Ten’s David Nicholls is also visiting the festival as well as horticulturist, columnist and one-time head gardener for BBC Gardeners’ World Alys Fowler. Martin Hughes-Games will also talk at the festival. He is the co-presenter of the BBC’s Springwatch and Autumnwatch programmes, and has spent 30 years making wildlife documentaries in often-perilous conditions.
