Billed as the World’s Biggest Coffee Morning, MacMillan’s charity event will once again be keenly supported by Banbury residents with public events across the area.

From Wardington and Mollington in the north to Upper Heyford in the south there are currently 20 public coffee mornings in the Banbury Guardian’s catchment area, with many more just outside, scheduled for the morning of Friday, September 28.

It is not just coffee shops and cafes that participate with all manner of businesses getting involved.

Wardington’s Barn Farm Plants will be hosting an event again this year with tea and coffee being served between 9.30am and noon.

There will also be home baked cakes, Ella Art stall, fun, raffle and plant tombola.

Meanwhile the team at Redrow Homes’ Bloxham Vale on Bloxham Road are inviting the public to their event on September 28 between 10.30am and noon.

Guests will be able to enjoy a morning cuppa with friends, along with a tempting selection of homemade cakes and treats, all of which will be available for a small donation to Macmillan.

In addition the home-builder will donate £5 to the charity for every visitor who attends.

Tonia Tyler, sales director for Redrow Homes (South Midlands), said: “The support that Macmillan offers to not only those with cancer, but their close family and friends too, is greatly appreciated and makes such a difference in the local community.

“Taking part in the World’s Biggest Coffee Morning provides us with an opportunity to show our support to the fantastic Macmillan nurses and give thanks for all of the incredible work they do.

“It also creates a lovely occasion to invite local people, family and friends to join us for a cuppa and catch up, all while raising funds to support the vital services provided by Macmillan. It’s set to be a great morning and we hope to see lots of people from the community here on the day.”
