Banbury's Church Lane Gallery January exhibition now on

Cropredy based artist Louise is getting world wide attention for her medieval style landmark designs.

Louise holds a degree in graphic design, although her subsequent employment did not involve art - she’s currently a Banbury postwoman.

She did, however, as a pastime, take commissions online for illuminated lettering and documents, house portraits and baby name painting, as well as traditional canal painting - decorating narrowboats, selling painted items and running weekend courses.

In March 2019, she finally started to publicly exhibit pieces depicting her love of medieval art at Church Lane Gallery - and received a phenomenal response.

Louise’s illuminated manuscript style portrayals of Banbury, Oxford and London’s iconic buildings have been snapped up by collectors as far afield as Canada and the United States.

This month the gallery also features Anona Wyi, an experienced and trained glass blower who has spent over 18 years working with glass.

She studied at the prestigious Oreforse School of Glass in Sweden and has worked and exhibited in Norway, Sweden, China, Hong Kong and Australia.

Her works are influenced by bringing together glass blowing techniques from Italy, Scandinavia and England. Currently she is working on an iridised technique, exploring the complexity of colour and simplicity of form.

The artworks will be displayed until January 28 with a meet and greet the artist event schenduled for January 18.
