Dashwood was rated as 'good' in all areas in a Care Quality Commission (CQC) report published last month following the unannounced inspection in August.

Area manager Faye Zarb said: “Dashwood is a fantastic service. This CQC result shows the commitment all our staff have to achieving positive outcomes for customers.

"It is also a testament to the good relationships developed within the service and across the wider organisation; sharing information, using policies, systems, training and customer engagement initiatives to build good practice and enhance our reputation.”

The inspectors found people 'were supported to have maximum choice and control of their lives', with the service considered safe, well-led, effective, caring and responsive.

The registered manager was aware of the values and vision of the organisation and to ensure these were implemented into the service to ensure people achieved positive outcomes, according to inspectors.

Inspectors spoke to six customers and to one family member during their visit, noting that everyone receiving a service felt cared for and happy.

They told inspectors: "I get on with all the staff. They are good at their jobs," and, "all the staff are kind and help me if I am worried about anything."

The service is ran by Advance, which provides housing and support for people with disabilities, learning disabilities, and mental health conditions.

Registered manager Louis Benfield said: "I am proud to lead such an outstanding staff team and I am proud of the great work Advance staff do here.

"The result of the inspection and the positive comments from customers and families demonstrates the ways in which we are able to genuinely transform our customers."
