Each dog has to have somebody aged 16+ to accompany it in the pool and lifeguards will be on duty to keep an eye on the human swimmers.

Each session will last for 50 minutes. Booking has been open since last month so to find out more about the terms and conditions, timings and whether any spaces are left, go to: www.leisurecentre.com/woodgreen-leisure-centre/News/woodgreen-dog-owner-swim-2018

The event has caused great interest. Banbury-based Ellen Shea said on behalf of the Pet Medicine Company this week: “Calling all dog lovers. Woodgreen Leisure Centre is getting ready for an enormous splash this Sunday with their first annual dog and owner swim, and we can’t wait! What better way to bring summer to a close?

“You’ll have to be quick though as spaces are filling up fast.”
