The BBC cameras will be at Banbury’s Little Amsterdam deli cafe on North Bar this afternoon (Tuesday) as part of Nigel Slater’s cookery programme Eating Together.

The business is a popular destination for many people in the town, who regularly flock to the deli to try its Dutch pancakes.

Owner Ilja Harvey-Andrews has invited four friends to take part in the programme, where Mr Slater meets devoted home cooks across multi-cultural Britain.-

The programme will be broadcast on Points of View next week, and although Mr Slater will not be present for filming, Mrs Harvey-Andrews said: “The BBC have spoken to several schools and decided to choose us which is really cool. The chosen subject is mint and they have asked me to get a group of friends together where we will cook and then sit down and eat.

“It is great fun to do things like this. It is a much better way of socialising as sometimes you see people on their mobile phones all the time and not talking. We hold a lot of cookery events here and they are always great fun.”

And film cameras were also in Parsons Street this afternoon to shoot Escape to the Country, in which housebuyers look to relocate to their dream home in the countryside.
